December 06, 2008 - Earlier this year I played the role of Boner Bob in a pilot called "Flicks."  I finally got a copy of a rough edit and cut a few clips for my site.  Above, you can see three clips (or under Film Clips) and you can also see pictures from the shoot.

November 01, 2008 - If you live in Chicago, go check out the Chicago International Children's Film Festival screening of "Plain and Simple" at 3:00 PM at Facets Cinema (1517 W. Fullerton Ave.).  It's a film I did when I was in Chicago and I was one of the few live actors.  For more information on the film, photos, clips, a trailer, and more, visit www.plainandsimplemovie.com.

October 31, 2008 - Today was one of the coolest days ever!  I helped out on a USC grad student short and got to watch an old Arriflex 16mm film camera in action.  It was sweet to look through the viewfinder and see how the lens settings affected the frame and the shot.

October 26, 2008 - Since I was in the neighborhood, today I did a screening of "The Smelly Janitor" and "Hungry" for my pals at the Maryland Ensemble Theatre.  It was great to see my old friends and to share my two short films with them.  Going coast to coast from Friday to Sunday made me crazy tired, but it was still an awesome weekend!

Shorts Program Handout

October 25, 2008 - Today was the screening of "Hungry" as part of the shorts program.  After the screening, I took part in a Q & A.  It was great to talk with people and answer questions about the film.  I really enjoyed that part of the event.

The first couple of pictures of a small building that you see are of the location of my first acting class that started on October 2, 1995 at 7:30pm.  My good friends Sophie and Bubby moved to that street so I drove by it.  It was raining, so the pictures aren't great, but it was touching for me to see a place that help change my whole life thirteen years ago.

October 24, 2008 - Today I flew to Baltimore, Maryland, rented a car, and then drove to Greenbelt, Maryland for the opening night festivities of the Utopia Film Festival.  "Hungry" is lucky enough to be an Official Selection and part of of their shorts program showing tomorrow!  My good friend Mark Barnhart came to enjoy the event and it was great hanging out with him.

October 23, 2008 - I've finally got off of my lazy butt and scanned some pictures from Hustler's Holiday 2008 issue.  If you look on the cover and page 44, you can see pictures from a shoot I did as a crazy Santa molesting Jaime Kennedy.  He was a cool dude.  I actually saw him a few months ago in his sweet ass Maserati and said hi to him.  He looked up at me and said "Santa!"

October 23, 2008 - "Hungry" has received some press in the Frederick, Maryland area prior to it's screening at the Utopia Film Festival in Greenbelt, Maryland this weekend.  Check out The Frederick News Post and The Frederick Gazette to read the articles.

September 28, 2008 - "Hungry" has a new trailer prepared for the Utopia Film Festival.  Click here to watch it on YouTube.  "Hungry" will be screening there on Saturday, October 25th at 3:30pm.  It will be part of the 90 minute Shorts Program.  I'll be in the area from Oct 24 - 26, so I hope to see you there!

September 27, 2008 - Today was the USC SCholar's Club Kick Off Breakfast.  It's an awesome program that I was lucky enough to be selected to be involved in.  With a variety of services, they help students from 2 year schools apply for the harder to get into 4 year schools.  After completing my AA in Film at LACC, my goal is to enter as a Junior at USC into their Cinema Program.  It's tough to get in there, so wish me luck!

"Hungry"

August 20, 2008 - "Hungry" has been accepted into another festival!  It is now an Official Selection in the Utopia Film Festival, October 24 - 26 in Greenbelt, Maryland.  That's pretty close to my old stomping ground of Frederick, Maryland, so I will do my best to make it to that event for sure!

August 11, 2008 - "Hungry" won Best Silent Film at the Bayou City Inspirational Film Festival!

August 10, 2008 - Here's the hotel and the flight back from Houston, Texas!  As you can see, Pish is SUPER EXCITED!

August 09, 2008 - Here is the third day of the festival.  You can see my old US Navy buddy Tony as well as Deron with his wife and new beautiful baby.  They all came to today's screening of "Hungry."  You can also see some of the winners and a few pictures of me picking up the Best Silent Film award.

August 08, 2008 - Here are pictures of the second day at the film festival.  You can see some terrible pictures that Pish took when I was chatting on a panel of filmmakers and also some empty spaces where films were being shown.  There were a lot of films, a few rooms, a lot of chairs, and very few patrons...

August 07, 2008 - Here are some pictures of the flight to Houston, Texas and also some from the first night at the Bayou City Inspirational Film Festival.  My friend Pish (who played the "Rich Man" in "Hungry") accompanied me to the festival...I'm the handsome one in the pictures!

"Hungry"

July 14, 2008 - This is a good day!  I found out that "Hungry" has been accepted into another festival!  It's the 2008 Non Violence International Film Festival, September 12 - 20 in Ontario, Canada.  Visit http://www.nviff.com for more info.

Best Supporting Actor - Short

"Plain and Simple" – Trent

July 09, 2008 - This must be the time for big surprises, because I got another big surprise today.  A super cool animated film I was involved in a while back called "Plain and Simple" got accepted into two festivals!  Congratulations to Jose & Merrin!  Also, the Action on Film Festival was crazy enough to nominate me as best supporting actor.  Dude...them other supporting actors must have really sucked...

"The Smelly Janitor"

"Hungry"

July 02, 2008 - Today I received a big surprise.  A plaque and two certificates arrived at the Film Department Chairman's office.  I found out that "The Smelly Janitor" received 3rd place in the short film category at the 3rd Annual Student Film & Video Festival and "Hungry" received an Honorable Mention in the same category.  Sweet!

"Hungry"

June 22, 2008 - Today I received notification that "Hungry" was selected as an Honorable Mention in the 10th Annual BestFest America Student Film Festival in San Diego, CA!  Yeah!

June 02, 2008 - I was SUPER surprised and honored today to receive an acceptance letter from the USC SCholar's Club!  It's a very cool organization, funded by the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, that helps people at two year schools with the difficult process of transferring to selective universities.  Members will be able to take part in workshops and lots of other cool stuff!  After completing the film program at LACC, my terribly difficult goal is to transfer to the USC film school...wish me luck!

May 19, 2008 - Today a handful of my friends and I (along with other lucky students) received scholarships!  I was awarded the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation Book Grant Scholarship for "outstanding academic achievement."  Yeah for free books!

May 16, 2008 - Tonight I went with my fellow film student buddy Anmol to see "The Fall" directed by Tarsem.  Afterwards, he did a Q & A which was pretty cool.  Tarsem attended the LACC film school like us, so Anmol and I chatted with him briefly after the Q & A.  He seems to be a great guy with a very distinct vision.

May 16, 2008 - Today students from the different Korean Language classes went on a field trip with Professor Hong to the Korean Cultural Center in Los Angeles.  I'm in the Korean 1 class and it's pretty cool and fun.  It's tough at times, but I like it a lot.  After touring the center, we went to a Korean restaurant called Tahoe Galbi and ate enough for 32,000 people.  I'm certain that I ate 3 cows and 14 chickens by myself.

May 15, 2008 - Today a few of my friends and I attended a ceremony where we were awarded certificates for being named to the LACC Dean's Honor List for Outstanding Scholastic Achievement!  You need a 3.5 GPA or above to be named to the list.  Last semester I had a 4.0 GPA, but this semester is kicking my butt and I think I'll be lucky to end up with a 3.5 this time.

"Hungry"

May 07, 2008 - I was informed today that "Hungry" was accepted into a film festival!  It's the Bayou City Inspirational Film Festival August 7-9, 2008 in Houston, Texas.  Yeah!

Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation Book Grant Scholarship!

May 03, 2008 - Today I got a letter from the LACC Foundation that said I have been awarded the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation Book Grant Scholarship for "outstanding academic achievement."  Yeah for free books!

May 03, 2008 - My buddy Anmol and I shot my friend's band "Pacmaniac" today.  They did a concert for Keith's daughter's school carnival and we shot footage for them to whip up a mini-concert film.

May 01, 2008 - Above are a few pictures that my friend Anmol took.  He's a fellow film student and these shots were for a photography class.  I'm such a beautiful model!

LACC FOREIGN LANGUAGE DAY

Click here to see a short movie clip of us singing in Korean!
(might load slowly)

April 29, 2008 - Today was the Los Angeles City College Foreign Language Day.  I'm currently enrolled in the Korean 1 class and today we sang a few Korean songs in Korean!  Also, myself and another student (Arturo) demonstrated how to introduce yourself in Korean.  It was pretty cool!

New Print Work Pictures

April 15, 2008 - Last Friday I did a photo shoot with Jamie Kennedy.  It was for the holiday issue of Hustler Magazine that will come out later this year.  The concept was I was a crazy Santa that attacked him and humped his leg...good times!

February 22, 2008 - 2 short films on 2/22 was a success!  Everyone seemed to have fun and enjoy the films, so that's good!  Click here to see pictures from the event.

January 27, 2008 - It's been a terribly long time since I've written something here.  It's not because there's been no news to share, it's because I've been too busy to share the news!  Besides teaching computer classes and caring for a gaggle of Korean kids (see www.hollywoodenglishcamp.com), I'm still in film school full time at LACC.

I'm about to wrap up a winter session of math (oh the joy), and start the spring semester where I'll be taking Honor's English 102, Honor's Philosophy, another math class, Korean 1 (as in the language!), and screenwriting.  I'm super excited to take the screenwriting class.  I feel tragically weak in that department, so I'm really looking forward to learning as much as I can and putting it to good use one day!

I guess the latest and greatest news would be that I just booked The Silent Movie Theatre to do a screening of my two shorts that I directed late last year.  Come on by on February 22nd at 5:00pm - 7:00pm!
