April 09, 2009 - Above is a scene from "Doubt," with Martin Head as Father Flynn and Sarah Logan as Sister Aloysius, that I directed as part of a Film Directing Class that I took at Los Angeles City College (LACC). Below is a scene from "Office Space" that I acted in as part of the same class.
March 17, 2009 - Last night I went to the Studio City Branch Library as part of their Distinguished Speaker Series where my Film Directing Professor, Dr. Bruce Cook, was speaking and signing his books. He was joined by another author, Robert Fate. It was a very interesting night and it was great to hear about their books. See below for info on their novels.

February 28, 2009 - I finally saw "Plain and Simple!" It was great. It's an animated film that started shooting on September 12, 2001 in Chicago. Yep...that September 12. It was a tough day, but we all pulled together and did our best. It took Jose and Merrin a long time to get this off the ground because they could only work on this project part time and it took forever to draw and render in HD!
I really enjoyed the film. Everyone did a great job and the animation was awesome. The look and feel of the film was very unique and I loved all of the bird characters. They each had their own bits, and they were great. The screening was at Raleigh Studios for the 14th Annual International Family Film Festival. It was pretty cool, because it was right across the street from Paramount.
I hope you get a chance to see the movie somewhere one day! Click here to see clips, pictures, a trailer, etc.
See below for a couple of journal entries about the shoot (which you can also find under 2001):

Well...sniff...sniff...the "Plain and Simple" shoot ended today. I've never been so damn sad after any type of production. I absolutely loved doing this film. The Director and crew were awesome and the actress (Deborah Leydig) playing my evil wife was perfect! I think we had a great rapport.
I had so much fun shooting this film. It was a great learning experience working with the blue screen and props and I'm sure I'll work with these guys again one day. I can not wait to see the finished product!
Here's a shot of the whole blue screen set.

Today was the beginning of shooting for "Plain and Simple." It was actually really freaky. I was doing something that brings me much joy while America was going through an unbelievable tragedy. We didn't even talk about what was going on outside of the set. We just kept on going and trying not to freak ourselves or each other out. It wasn't too easy to play this happy loveable character, but it was nothing compared to what others were enduring at the same exact time.
February 27, 2009 - I found out today that "Plain and Simple" (an animated film where I played one of the few live characters) will be screening at the 14th Annual International Family Film Festival on Saturday, February 28, at 12:30pm. I'll be going and I hope to see you there! Here's more info:

February 22, 2009 - Today was Todd and Mo's (Double Take Entertainment) shoot for "Who Would You?" It was an awesome shoot, I learned a lot, and I had a lot of fun! You can see some pictures from the shoot above. A lot of them are fuzzy and out of focus (blame Anmol), but there are a few good ones in there.

Localization of Kidney stone pain
February 13, 2009 - I woke up at about 4:30am this morning with the greatest freaking pain I've EVER felt! I felt like an eighteen wheeler truck had driven through my bedroom window and decided to park itself on my left testicle. I also had severe pain on my left side and lower back. My good buddy Pish was awesome enough to drive me to the VA hospital where I writhed and scream in pain for a couple of hours while no one helped me. Eventually, a doctor saw me and said that I probably have a kidney stone. After a cat-scan, it turns out that I do.

January 28, 2009 - I found out today that a film I had a small part in called "Dynamite Swine" might actually come out this year! This might not sound like a big deal, but it really is because I think they starting shooting back in 2004! They shot off and on for a few years and have been in post production ever since. I can't wait to see it!
They recently listed "Dynamite Swine" on IMDb here: www.imdb.com/title/tt1362210/

Part of my application was to send in two writing samples. One needed to be a description of a unique "Original Character" and the other needed to be a description of a true "Intense Emotional Moment." See below links to .pdf files if you would like to see what I wrote for my application.
January 20, 2009 - Today was a big day for me. To get into the film program at USC, not only do you have to submit an application and numerous other things to USC, you must also submit supplemental materials to the film school side of USC. So both sides have to accept you if you want to get in!
Today I put the final piece of the puzzle in the mail. I'm completely done with all of my application materials and now I just wait! I should know something in June. Wish me luck!

January 01, 2009 - Happy New Year! I hope you have a wonderful 2009. This should be quite a year for me. I'll graduate in June from Los Angeles City College with my AA in Cinema Production and my next goal is to transfer to USC into the Film Production Program. It's very difficult to get into that program, so wish me luck!
In other good news, IMDb has started a new service where you can view films attached to their pages. See the links above to check out "Hungry" and "The Smelly Janitor" on IMDb.
