Pancakes & Chicken Balls
November 15, 2005

Tonight I went for one of my periodic night walks.  The nights are really nice here.  It's starting to get cold though.  I'll need to get a winter coat soon.  One of the advantages of a chilly night are that the fish cakes taste even better.  I stopped at a few local outdoor stands and had a fish cake on a stick, chicken balls on stick, and a pancake in a paper cup.  The fish cake is pressed fish in a dough like manner, then boiled in broth on a stick.  It tastes a lot better than it sounds.  And I didn't actually eat chicken testes, it was chicken rolled up in balls and breaded, then fried on a stick.  The pancakes are gifts from heaven.  These might be the best thing I've had so far here.  They are small pancakes with cinnamon and peanuts.  Exceptionally warm and tasty on a chilly night.  They alone are worth the trip over, so you must come and try some.  All of these things aren't very filling so I stopped in and had a cheeseburger at a Korean fast food restaurant too.

The close moon with trees near my apartment in the foreground.

On the walk home, the moon was out and looked beautiful.  I swear the moon is bigger over here in Korea.  I know it can't actually be bigger, so maybe it's just closer here than it is in America.  I think NASA should move their operation over here, because they could save on gas money big time because the moon is closer.  Especially with gas prices being so expensive now.  I think I'll call them up now...

What I learned today about Korea:  1)  I don't think there's a Korean word for cheeseburger, so it's very easy for me to order one!
