A Korean fruit that I can't find a translation for. They look like pears to me.

It was Thanksgiving in America but, of course, the Koreans don't celebrate that American holiday here.  Sunja did, however, throw a little BBQ for me and her ladies group.  I went over to her home in the mountains and it was stunningly beautiful.  We had to drive over a very winding road up and over one mountain to get to the country area where she lived.  I got dizzy on the drive over..hehe.

As we ate, I saw black birds with white markings fly overhead and a bobcat looking at us inquisitively across the dirt road.  The food was great.  We had strips of pork, big hunks of beef, sushi, kim chi, and a handful of other yummy things.  I brought a big chocolate cake from a local bakery.  The mountain views were wonderful.  Especially with their pear and persimmon trees in the foreground.  Persimmon is a fruit that seems to be a cross between an apple and a tomato.  It's very popular here.

What I learned today about Korea:  1)  Flat rocks are grilled with the meat.  Then the meat is placed on the hot rocks at your table to help keep the meat warm.
