Today was one of those day's that I'll remember probably forever. My good buddy Jeong Woo and I attended the Andong Maskdance Festival. It was a holiday week in Korea and the normal hour or so drive took 3 hours, but watching the show made up for the traffic hell. The main event for me was watching the Hahoe Mask Dance. It's a play that's centuries old and was amazing to see. It was in Korean, of course, but I understood what was going on and knew a little bit about the story. Above is my favorite mask and character. He's a big guy who plays the "Fool" and seems drunk with happiness. That's the part I'd probably be cast in if I were doing the play and the part I'd want to do! A tear or so tried to escape my eyes after the show. I enjoyed it so much and afterwards the crowd was invited on stage to dance with the players. It personified the exact thing that I strive for and I think what most performers strive for...entertaining the audience and making them smile...inside and out. Check out these links if you want
